How to read a Turkish tuition fee schedule
A tuition amount is useful when you know exactly what it covers. Keep the programme, applicant category, academic year and currency beside the figure, then separate compulsory extras and living costs. That gives you a comparison you can actually use.

Read the source behind each price
This catalogue displays selected programme fees where source information is available, and leaves unknown amounts unspecified. It is not a complete university price list or a personal offer. Open the linked institutional fee schedule, confirm the intake and applicant category, and compare it with the written offer you receive. Do not infer a missing fee is zero.
What the published figure usually covers
Read whether the amount is annual, semester-based, per credit or for the whole programme, and whether tax or a scholarship is already included. Check preparation and practical-training charges separately. For example, Özyeğin’s 2026–2027 international schedule describes annual tuition and separately identifies summer school, flight training and certain programme equipment costs. Do not apply that institution’s rules to every university.
Check the award before subtracting a discount
A schedule may show the standard fee or an already discounted amount. Ask which applies to you and avoid subtracting the same scholarship twice. Read the duration, renewal conditions and coverage of preparation, repeats and extras. Compare the payable total over the planned period, not just the percentage in the first-year offer.
Currency and when the amount is fixed
Ask which currency fixes the fee and which payment currencies are accepted. If conversion is involved, record the rate source and date. Check whether later-year fees can change and whether a scholarship percentage applies to that revised base. Keep transfer charges and exchange-rate risk as separate budget lines.
Six questions before you treat a fee as final
Ask these of the university in writing, for your specific programme and intake. A verbal answer from anyone who benefits from your enrolment is not an answer you can plan around.
- Is this figure per year or for the whole programme?
- Is the preparatory year included, and if not what does it cost?
- What discount applies to my profile, for how many years, and on what condition?
- In which currency is the fee set, and in which is it collected?
- Is the amount fixed for the full degree or revised each academic year?
- What else is billed separately — registration, materials, repeat courses, insurance?

Frequently asked questions
Why will no one give me a straight number?
A straight number exists, but only once your programme, intake and discount are known — which is to say, once you are no longer asking a general question. Ask the university for a written fee statement for the specific programme you are applying to and the intake you are applying for, and you will get a figure you can plan around. A number quoted before those are fixed is an illustration, not a quotation.
Are the figures I see on agency sites wrong?
Check whether the amount has an institutional source, academic year, currency and clear scholarship basis. A third-party figure can be useful for comparison, but confirm your payable amount and conditions with the university before committing.
Does a higher fee mean a better university?
Price alone does not establish programme quality. Compare curriculum, facilities you will actually use, teaching language, applicable accreditation and recognition for your intended destination. Treat published outcomes cautiously unless their cohort and methodology are clear.
