Compare the language requirements of actual guest-service, sales, operations and management roles. Practise professional writing, handling requests and explaining decisions in the languages you plan to use. Multilingual experience may be relevant, but demonstrate your level and service skills rather than presenting nationality as a qualification.

Read the course list for hotel operations, finance, marketing, food and beverage, revenue management and technology. Ask what students practise, how projects are assessed and whether placements involve supervised tasks or observation. Confirm access to facilities and the department’s role in arranging a host.

Ask prospective placement hosts about shifts, weekends, seasonal contracts, travel, accommodation, pay and supervision. City and resort properties can have different arrangements, so compare written offers rather than assuming one location is more stable. Ask recent graduates about their first roles and the experience required for progression; a management degree does not set a promotion timetable.

Explore hotel operations, events, sales or travel-related business through specific role descriptions. For work in Türkiye, check the required permit or exemption separately from student residence. The Ministry lists tourist guiding and designated travel-agency responsible-person duties among roles reserved for Turkish citizens. This is a restriction on named roles, not a statement that every tourism job is closed to foreign graduates. Confirm the exact duty before planning around it.
