Studying business in Türkiye
Business programmes can combine management, finance, marketing and quantitative work in different ways. Their teaching language and practical requirements also vary. Start with the actual curriculum and your preferred kinds of work, then use accreditation and graduate evidence to test the university’s claims.

Check what the accreditation covers
Accreditation scope depends on the scheme. AACSB, for example, can accredit an institution’s business provision or an approved academic unit, with defined programme exclusions. Do not assume a logo covers every degree, campus or study mode. Verify the provider, scope and current status on the accreditor’s register. Use this as evidence about educational quality processes, alongside curriculum and teaching, rather than as a guarantee of employment or automatic diploma recognition.
The second: what the programme makes you do
Ask whether an internship is compulsory, how long it lasts, who finds the placement and how it is assessed. Request examples of recent student projects: were they simulations, research assignments or work with an external organisation? Find out what the final-year project requires and how electives build on the core curriculum. An employer-linked project can provide useful experience, but a placement arrangement alone does not establish graduate job prospects.
The third: where the graduates go
Ask for dated outcomes that distinguish international graduates, where available: work, further study, country of destination and the size of the group surveyed. Request the response rate as well as the headline percentage; a few testimonials do not describe an entire cohort. If the department has no comparable data, record that as unknown rather than treating it as poor performance. Look at career-service access and alumni contacts that are relevant to the country and industry you are considering.
What a business degree does not do
A business degree is not a universal professional licence. Marketing, operations and other commercial roles differ from regulated accountancy or financial-services duties, which can require separate qualifications or eligibility. Foreign nationals must also check Turkish work permission; student residence alone does not provide it. Name the specific role and destination when asking about requirements, rather than asking whether a business graduate can work everywhere.
A FEW MORE ANSWERS
Frequently asked questions
Is business a safe choice if I am undecided?
Its range can be useful while you explore options, but it does not make the choice risk-free. Check the teaching language rather than assuming English, and examine the balance of quantitative courses, writing, group projects and electives. Use introductory modules and placements to test your interests before choosing a specialisation.
Does the accreditation matter if I return home?
It is one piece of evidence about the education you received. Your home country’s diploma-recognition process, an employer’s selection and postgraduate admission are separate decisions. Check the exact accreditation scope and ask the relevant receiving institution what evidence it needs.
