What an acceptance letter is and is not
Read the acceptance letter as a statement of the university’s offer and remaining conditions. Keep it separate from proof of completed registration, a visa and a residence permit. Checking the details now helps avoid inconsistent records later.

Conditional and unconditional
A conditional offer lists requirements you still need to meet; an unconditional offer states that the university’s listed admission conditions have been satisfied. Neither replaces final registration or immigration approval. For a visa, ask the responsible mission which university document it accepts: a conditional offer, final acceptance or another enrolment confirmation may be required.
Details to check immediately
Mistakes on an acceptance letter are easy for the university to correct and expensive for you to discover late, because the consulate and the migration authority will compare the letter against your passport and your other documents.
- Your name spelled exactly as it appears in your passport, including middle names and order
- Your passport number and date of birth
- The programme name, level, language of instruction and duration
- The academic year and term you have been admitted for
- Any conditions, with their deadlines
- A signature, stamp and a reference or verification number
What it does not guarantee
An offer does not itself confirm a visa, accommodation, scholarship beyond its stated terms or completed university registration. Check the registration method, remaining documents and payment/refund conditions. Some institutions register online, while others require personal attendance or subsequent original-document checks.
Verifying that a letter is genuine
Open the university’s official site independently and use its admissions contacts or verification system. Give the application reference and ask it to confirm the offer, conditions and payment instructions. If a record cannot be located, pause payment and resolve the discrepancy; a failed lookup alone does not prove either admission or fraud.

Can I apply for a visa with a conditional letter?
Only if the responsible Turkish mission accepts that document for your application. Check before booking or paying; the university’s offer category and the mission’s visa-document requirement are separate.
Does a deposit secure my place?
Read what the written offer says the deposit secures, which conditions remain and when refunds are possible. Payment alone does not override unmet admission conditions or a registration deadline.
