PROCESS
From first enquiry to first lecture: the full sequence
A useful timeline separates fixed deadlines from tasks you can prepare in parallel. The sequence below is a planning checklist; adapt it to your qualification, university and lawful entry or stay requirements.

The sequence
Written out end to end, the process looks like this. The timing of each step is set by your university and your consulate, so build your own calendar from their published dates rather than from any generic month-by-month plan.
- Choose a field and degree level, then shortlist programmes.
- Check admission eligibility and destination-country recognition.
- Record accepted qualifications, language routes and deadlines.
- Prepare examinations and the documents required at application.
- Confirm registration-stage authentication and equivalency requirements.
- Submit applications and retain their references.
- Verify each offer, remaining conditions and refund terms.
- Use only payment instructions independently confirmed by the university.
- Check the required visa or exemption and responsible mission.
- Plan accommodation, health coverage and arrival funds.
- Complete registration by its deadline, using the permitted method.
- Coordinate lawful arrival, orientation and the residence process.
- Activate the student account and complete course registration.
The three dependencies that break timelines
Track three dependencies closely: an accepted academic result before assessment, required documents by the university’s registration deadline, and a lawful entry/stay route for your circumstances. An equivalency certificate may have a permitted later deadline; an exam may have an accepted alternative. Record these exceptions in writing instead of forcing every applicant into one sequence.
What can run in parallel
You can often research accommodation, prepare documents and submit eligible applications in parallel. Registration may be online or require attendance; check your university’s method. Visa booking rules also differ. Mark the steps that truly depend on an earlier decision, then avoid paying for commitments before their conditions are clear.
Build the calendar backwards
Work backwards from your own registration deadline, orientation and teaching dates; they are not interchangeable. Add the published examination-result dates and the mission’s visa procedure. Leave space for document corrections and confirm any late-arrival arrangement with the university.
A FEW MORE ANSWERS
Frequently asked questions
How early should I start?
Earlier than the application deadline suggests, because the deadline governs only the application step. Work backwards from the first day of term through the visa and the equivalence certificate, and you will see the real starting point for your own situation.
Can I still make the coming intake?
Check whether the university is still accepting your applicant category and can complete registration with the documents you can provide. Include any exam-result, language and visa deadlines that apply. If one cannot be met, ask about an authorised later submission or the next intake before spending more.
