Logistics, trade & supply chains

Logistics is about making a plan work despite delays, changing demand and many organisations sharing responsibility. Commercial trade study and operational transport work overlap, but are not the same job.

Before choosing this path

General logistics roles differ from reserved customs, ship-agency or transport-organiser duties in Türkiye. Verify the exact function and foreign-national eligibility.

01 · CAREER PATHS

The work you could pursue.

These are examples of career directions, not automatic professional titles awarded by the degree. Training and eligibility differ by role.

01

Supply-chain analyst

Compare stock, demand and delivery performance.

02

Transport coordinator

Arrange shipment information and resolve operational exceptions.

03

Procurement assistant

Support supplier comparisons, orders and delivery follow-up.

02 · THE EVIDENCE IN TÜRKİYE

Pay, context & opportunity.

Compare freight, warehouse and supply-chain operations roles. Check shift patterns, transport modes and required software rather than relying on job titles alone.

One named role, not every job in this subject. Experience bands compare different respondents; they do not promise pay progression.

These are occupation or field observations, not outcomes for a named university, degree or international student. Salary expectations are not confirmed earnings; employment indicators are not a job offer.

03 · WORKING LIFE

Picture an ordinary workday.

Look beyond a job title. Think about the people, environments and routines you would spend time with.

Follow the shipment

Check status information and identify the next action when a delivery slips.

Balance stock

Compare inventory with expected demand and discuss replenishment with colleagues.

Keep people informed

Work between systems, calls and warehouses; shift or out-of-hours coverage depends on the operation.

04 · START WHILE YOU STUDY

Build evidence of your abilities.

Coursework is one part of preparation. Use projects, supervised experience and practical work to understand what suits you.

01

Map one journey

Trace a product from supplier to customer and identify handovers and missing information.

02

Practise analysis

Create a small inventory or delivery dashboard using openly available or synthetic data.

03

See operations

Ask internship providers about warehouse exposure, planning tasks and working schedules.

05 · BEYOND TÜRKİYE

A path across borders.

Recognition, professional registration, language and immigration are separate checks. Plan for the country and role you actually want to enter.

Cross-border employers need familiarity with local procedures and useful languages; trade vocabulary alone is insufficient.

Compare freight, purchasing and analytics roles separately when researching a destination’s employers and work route.

Professional access still matters

General logistics roles differ from reserved customs, ship-agency or transport-organiser duties in Türkiye. Verify the exact function and foreign-national eligibility.
